This guide is designed in such a way that if you do not want to read the text, you can simply look at the direction of energy (arrows) and focus on your body in order to create the most appropriate muscle activity for you.  However, I do strongly recommend reading the first few chapters on ‘Neutral Pelvis & Neutral Spine’, ‘Mindfulness’ and ‘Breathing’, which will help you to understand the method.

Each exercise or posture has text explaining the exercise or pose opposite the associated pictures. The text will guide you if you are not sure.  At the end of each section, there are ‘workouts’ for the more confident practitioner, which range in difficulty.

This is a deeper, more individual and more meaningful approach to movement.

    A fantastic book for anybody (because any body is a Pilates body!) who wishes to understand functional movement. This book really breaks down how to perform Pilates and yoga series safely and effectively, unlike so many tutorials available online.

    I have had the benefit of being a student of Marie-Claire for some years now, and can genuinely recommend her methods. After a lifetime of ballet, distance running, and wearing stiletto heels, I genuinely feel the benefits that this kind of exercise brings. A busy lifestyle means that I can’t always get to class, and these exercises are so well broken down that I feel confident to do them at home. A genuinely helpful resource for Pilates and yoga students.

    A fantastic book and ideal for anyone wanting something methodical, safe and effective to follow with full break-downs and build-ups of lots of the Pilates and Yoga fundamentals, this will be a great addition to the Fitt Pilates teacher training courses for students to continue their learning and development.

    There are so many books on the market they can get confusing. This book is very clear, really well illustrated and easy to follow. I love it even more as it’s written  by the lovely lady that trained and inspired me. I love Marie-Claire’s passion for Pilates and Yoga and it truly shows. A great reliable text
